Creches
Crêches provide occasional care for children while their parents are shopping, playing sport or on a course for example. Parents are expected to remain on the same premises, although not necessarily in the same room. A crêche must be registered if it takes children under 8 years, runs for 2 hours or more a day and for 6 or more days a year on the same premises (even if the child attends for shorter periods).
| Qualifications: | Depending on the size of the creche; there should be at least 2 or 3 staff that are trained to level 3 NVQ. Other workers should have relevant experience of worker with children. |
| Fees: | Creches cost around £3-£5 for each session. |
